FurSize is run by [legal entity name and country]. This page covers the FurSize iPhone app, the FurSize browser add-on and fursize.com. It says what we collect, why, and what you can do with it.
If you only use the app on your phone
Everything stays on your phone. We receive nothing.
What we collect when the app or add-on is connected to our service
- Your dog's profile: name, breed, birthday (optional), weight, a size group, and the number of the built-in picture you chose. Photos you take or choose are never uploaded.
- Measurements: chest, neck, back and weight; how each was taken (camera or tape); the raw lengths behind a camera measurement; your phone model, whether it has LiDAR, tracking quality and app version; and coat type if you set it. We use these to compute a size and to learn how weight, breed and coat relate to real chest size, so estimates improve.
- Size checks: the numbers of the size chart you checked, our answer, the shop's host name (for example
shop.example.com) and the product title you saved. Not the page, not its full address. - Your answer to “did it fit?” Optional.
- An anonymous account id. It is created automatically, is not linked to your name, and lets you move your data to a new phone.
- If you sign in with Apple: the private identifier Apple gives us and an email address, which may be Apple's private relay address. We never see your Apple password.
- Usage counts such as “measurement saved”, with no names or free text. You can turn this off in the app's Settings. No IP address or device identifier is stored with it.
- A short-lived abuse counter tied to a salted one-way hash of your network address. We do not store the address.
When the app reads a size chart from a picture
The picture is sent to our service and to our AI provider[provider name] only to read the table. We do not keep the picture. We keep the numbers we read, so the same picture does not need to be read twice.
The browser add-on
It reads size-chart numbers only on shops where you turn it on, one shop at a time. It sends only those numbers and your dog's measurements. It does not send the page, its address, your browsing history or other text.
This website
If you join the launch list we store your email address, the page you joined from, your browser language, and the time you agreed. The calculators run in your browser; what you type stays on your device and appears in the page address only so you can share a result.
Cookies and tracking
If you choose Allow on the banner, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help. It sets cookies and sends anonymous usage data (pages viewed, rough location, device type) to Google. We turn off ad personalization and Google signals and shorten IP addresses. If you choose No thanks, or ignore the banner, nothing is loaded and no cookies are set. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser.
We do not run advertising trackers.
What we never collect
Your contacts, your precise location, your browsing history, your photos, or advertising identifiers. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
How we use it
To run FurSize, to keep it safe and prevent abuse, to improve our sizing accuracy using combined measurements, and to tell you about the launch if you joined the list. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Who helps us run it
- Cloudflare: hosting, database and website delivery.
- [AI provider]: reading size charts from pictures, and helping our team summarize combined statistics. We send only the picture of a chart, or combined numbers with no names or personal identifiers.
- Apple: sign in and app distribution.
- Google: website analytics, if you allow it.
How long we keep it
Your data stays until you delete it. When you delete a dog or your account, it disappears from the app immediately and is erased from our systems within [30] days; deleting your account also removes all your size checks and answers. The launch-list email is kept until you ask us to delete it, or until[retention period] after launch.
Your choices and rights
In the app, Settings, Your data lets you export everything we hold about you and delete all of it. You can edit or delete a dog at any time, and turn off usage counts and reminders. For anything else write to[support email] or useDelete my data. Depending on where you live (including the EU, the UK and California) you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or move your data, and to object to some uses. You can also complain to your data protection authority. We reply within 30 days.
Children
FurSize is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, or the higher age your country sets.
International transfers
Our infrastructure may process data in the United States and other countries. [safeguards to confirm]
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app before it takes effect.
